I contacted a popular radio programme recently to see if we could post a 'Kindness Friday' rather than Black Friday where everyone is encouraged to shop shop shop. It would not be difficult to designate one day a month to Random Acts of Kindness, where we could consciously be kind to others more than other days of the week. For example let that car go in front of you, pay for a stranger's coffee, help the young mother with her buggy, and SMILE. Particularly appropriate at this time when everyone is so frazzled. I particularly like the story of Thich Nhat Hanh doing a slow walk through the airport with his group of monks, and the peace and quiet that followed in their wake, calming an otherwise frenetic atmosphere.
